Beautifully crafted by monks of the Monastery of Archangel Gabriel - Draganac in eastern Kosovo as a means to support themselves, this exquisite Cross is of heirloom quality. Made out of pear wood, the monks begin by cutting the outline on a band saw, and then incise the outline of the figure with a machine. The details are carefully carved by hand. The sanding is also done by hand, so small tool marks may be visible around the inner frame. The Cross is then hand-finished with olive oil.
